Pick up is offered for those children attending Allenby P.S. Each class children will participate in guided reading and writing practices with our literacy specialist. Twice per week North Toronto offers a half day literacy program where children will receive one-on-one literacy enrichment.
When a child learns to persevere, take risks, regulate their feelings, and find courage when something is tough, it sets them up for success in all other areas of their lives. Without children learning to strengthen these skills, they can not be set up for academic success. Teachers will focus on building the social/emotional skills of each child, teaching them to be kind, have courage, show respect, persevere, show resilience, and much more. The afternoon will be filled with lots of great specialty classes such as, science, mindfulness and meditation, introduction to French, as well as more literacy enrichment. In the morning children will focus on community building, connection, literacy and math foundations. With our small class sizes and teacher’s expertise, we can provide literacy and math enrichment to each child on a daily basis, meeting them where they are at. Building upon the skills that they have learned in our preschool program, helps children feel confident and capable as they draw upon prior knowledge.
